Blood Money: The Cyril Karabus Story

Renowned paediatrician Professor Cyril Karabus has relived his nightmare in a United Arab Emirates jail in a book that warns expatriate doctors about the ‘dangers’ of working in the Middle East, reports [s]The Times[/s]. Author Suzanne Belling has written a book, Blood Money: The Cyril Karabus Story, based on Karabus’s diary entries of hisexperience. His arrest followed an operation he performed on a three-year-old cancer patient while he was working at Sheikh Khalifa Medical Centre in Abu Dhabi in 2002. Even though medical records absolved him of any wrongdoing, Karabus spent two months in jail and seven months under house arrest.
