Hearing loss could lead to social isolation in the elderly

Elderly people with hearing loss may become socially isolated, so diagnosing hearing loss and treating the condition with hearing aids should be supported, reports [s]Health24[/s]. Anne Ingeborg Berg researcher at the [b]University of Gothenburg[/b] and author of the study in the [s]Journal of Personality[/s], said: ‘To our knowledge, this is the first time a link between hearing and personality changes has been established in longitudinal studies.’
