Nutritional supplements could end high mortality rates

Malnourished HIV-infected African adults are at high risk of early mortality after starting antiretroviral therapy (ART). Researchers from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine hypothesised in their study, Effects on mortality of a nutritional intervention for malnourished HIV-infected adults referred for antiretroviral therapy: a randomised controlled trial, that short-course, high-dose vitamin and mineral supplementation in lipid nutritional supplements would decrease mortality.
