Office of Health Standards Compliance publishes enforcement policy

A recently-gazetted Office of Health Standards Compliance (OHSC) norms and standards enforcement policy prescribes the process to be followed by its employees in their efforts to ensure that health establishments adhere to requirements in place since February 2019, reports Legalbrief.

It outlines the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders; the principles of enforcement; education, advice and guidance on compliance; monitoring compliance; inspections; the procedures to be followed in response to non-compliance; the criteria to be considered when taking enforcement action; the various forms enforcement action may take; the appeals process; and the publication of decisions taken by the ad hoc tribunal established to hear an appeal.
