Potential for cannabis to shrink cancer tumours

Cannabis can help shrink human cancer tumours in mice. [s]The Daily Mirror[/s] reports that new research reveals the drug’s main psychoactive ingredient – tetrahydrocannabino (THC) – may be responsible for its success. Scientists hope the findings will help develop a synthetic equivalent with anti-cancer properties. Dr Peter McCormick, of the University of East Anglia’s School of Pharmacy, warned patients against the temptation to self-medicate.
