Pretoria gynaecologist wounded in shopping centre robbery

Police are searching for three armed men who shot and wounded a well-known Pretoria  gynaecologist during a robbery at a shopping centre.

Eyewitness News reports that Doctor John Constantinides was shot in both legs on Sunday after the gang robbed the 60-year-old in the parking area of the Gift Acres Mall. The robbers fled with a Rolex watch a bag and his Porsche’s keys.

The police’s Ilze Jones says Constantinides is in a stable condition in hospital.

“The suspects fled in a white BMW. The police are currently investigating an armed robbery case. So as soon as we find this vehicle and all the suspects, we’ll definitely look into it and link it with other cases in the area.”
