Scarlet fever cases in the UK reach a 24-year high

The number of scarlet fever cases in the UK has reached a 24-year high. [s]The Independent[/s] reports that according to [b]Public Health England[/b], between the start of 2014 and end February, 868 cases were reported. In 2013, for the same period, only 591 cases were recorded. The report says scarlet fever has been manifesting itself as a milder disease since 1885 and fatalities have become rare in developed countries.
