UK water fluoridation report dismisses claims of health danger

The British Dental Health Foundation has welcomed Public Health England’s confirmation that water fluoridation significantly improves oral health, writes [s]Economic Voice[/s]. The report reveals that 28% of five-year-olds and 21% 12-year-olds in local authorities with water fluoridation schemes had no tooth decay compared to those in local authorities without such schemes. Fluoridated areas also saw fewer children aged one to four in fluoridated areas admitted to hospital for tooth decay compared to non-fluoridated areas. The report dismissed claims that fluoridated water supplies can lead to health problems.
