‘White coat’ effect quantified

Nurses may take more accurate blood pressure readings than physicians. Patients may feel more anxious around physicians than nurses and are therefore more likely to produce a higher reading. A review led by the [b]University of Exeter Medical School[/b] is the first to quantify higher blood pressure readings, although researchers have know about this phenomenon for years.
