More than 800 interns placed by Health Department

The Department of Health has finally placed almost 900 medical interns on the mid-year cycle after they were unable to be allocated space during the January 2024 intake.

This means 885 health professionals, including doctors, nurses and pharmacists, will now begin their medical internships and community services, spokesperson Foster Mohale told EWN.

“The department has been informing all successful applicants of the provinces and health facilities where they are scheduled to start their duties from 17 July.”

He said they had tried to place applicants according to their preferences of area and province, but this was not possible for everyone, due to limited posts in some regions.
