Lack of clarity over DNR

Seriously ill patients in the UK are being denied a say in whether they live or die because of a lack of clear rules on whether doctors must consult them before deciding whether to attempt to resuscitate them. [s]The Daily Telegraph[/s] reports that the government’s human rights watchdog has joined the family of a woman who had a Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order placed on her medical notes without her knowledge in a Court of Appeal challenge in an attempt to clarify the law. Janet Tracey’s family are calling for a set of single national guidelines to ensure patients, where possible, or their next of kin, are fully involved. The case continues.
