Limpopo doctor arrested on patient rape charge

A medical doctor has been arrested for allegedly raping his teenage patient near Tzaneen, Limpopo police are quoted in The Citizen as saying.

“It is alleged that on Monday, a 17-year-old girl went to the suspect’s surgery in Nkoankoa township for consultation,” said spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe. “On arrival, she was called in the consultation room and the suspect started examining her and during that process, the suspect then raped her.”

The report says the 52-year-old doctor will appear in the Nkoankoa Magistrate’s Court to face a charge of rape.
