Old Mutual doctor fined

A senior [b]Old Mutual[/b] doctor has been fined R60,000 by the [b]Health Professions Council of SA[/b] (HPCSA) for unprofessional conduct, after he circulated a communiqué that damaged a colleague's reputation, reports [s]Cape Argus[/s].

The council's professional conduct committee ordered that Dr Peter Bond, CMO at Old Mutual, pay R30,000 within a month, and suspended the remainder for three years on condition that he was not found guilty of a similar offence in the time of suspension.
