Plastic surgeons can claim

Plastic surgeons who have removed Poly Implant Prosthesis (PIP) breast implants from women because of their high rupture rate, may institute their own claims for damages from the German safety company that certified the product. A [s]Weekend Argus[/s] report says this is according to attorney Tzvi Brivik, who is helping SA women who had the implants inserted to claim damages.

In a recent judgment a French court ruled that any woman across the world who had PIP implants inserted, was entitled to recover at least the equivalent of R40,000, even if they had not had problems. Now it has emerged that plastic surgeons may also lodge claims.
