First g enital mutilation prosecution

The first UK prosecutions over female g enital mutilation have been announced by the [b]Crown Prosecution Service[/b]. [s]BBC News[/s] reports that [b]Dr Dhanuson Dharmasena[/b] will be prosecuted for an alleged offence while working at the [b]Whittington Hospital[/b] in London. [b]Hasan Mohamed[/b] faces a charge of intentionally encouraging female g enital mutilation. Dr Dharmasena and Mohamed will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 15 April.
