A malfunctioning microwave at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital that prompted an alert for staff to evacuate was a false alarm, said Gauteng Health last Friday.
TimesLIVE reports that smoke detected “in kitchen 27” was the result of a microwave that had malfunctioned early in the morning, according to spokesperson Motaletale Modiba said.
“Management conducted a walkabout to confirm there was no fire anywhere.”
