Well-known Gqeberha doctor Lungisa Excel Nojoko died in a head-on collision last Sunday morning, when his bakkie collided with a car carrying three people, all of whom also died.
Nojoko, who had a private surgery in KwaDwesi, Nelson Mandela Bay, was described by provincial health spokesperson Siyanda Manana as “a committed doctor who dedicated his entire life to helping the downtrodden”, reports News24.
“The department is shocked at his death…he served the people of the Nelson Mandela metro with diligence.”
In an online tribute, provincial ANC spokesperson Gift Ngqondi said Nojoko was a “cut above the rest”, a testimony to the Hippocratic Oath.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Siphokazi Mawisa said the names of the remaining victims would be released soon.
