Dr Terrence Kommal has been elected the first African CEO to serve on the international Young Presidents Organisation Healthcare Industry Network Board. Kommal is the current network regional chair for Africa for the YPO Healthcare Industry Network.
Kommal said that, “Healthcare is a basic human right and in the age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and artificial intelligence there are still those who regrettably have no access to basic healthcare services in the developing world. Bringing an African perspective is critical to engagements of finding sustainable global healthcare solutions.”
Kommal is the CEO of the Medical Expert Consulting Group, a specialised case management and medico-legal firm based in Pretoria.
YPO is the largest global network of CEOs and is the premier leadership organisation of CEOs in the world, with more than 26,000 members in more than 130 countries, in diverse industries and businesses. YPO member-run companies employ 21m people and generate $9trn in annual revenue. Africa has just over 800 members.
