Therapists’ notes shared

Mental health patients do not have the ready access to office visit notes that, increasingly, other patients enjoy. But reports [s]The New York Times[/s], in an experiment being undertaken at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre, within days of a session, patients can read their therapists’ notes on their computers or smartphones. The hope is that this transparency will improve ther apeutic trust and communication. The report says, however, that the project presents difficult choices for those who argue for parity between medical and mental health patients. Others question whether patients really want to know what their therapists think.
