Celebrity doctor charges Magudumana and 'Facebook rapist' with fraud

Popular doctor Mmereka Ntshani, known as Dr Pashy on social media, has laid charges against convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester and Sandton doctor Nandipha Magudumana, who were arrested in Arusha, Tanzania recently after being on the run for nine months.

The case was opened 20 April, with Pashy’s attorney, Sentebale Makara telling The Citizen several charges had been laid against the couple: for fraud, forgery, theft and uttering.

Passports

Magudumana was in possession of two original passports in Ntshani’s name when she and Bester were arrested.

“One passport had expired in 2022 and the other is valid until 2029. They are authentic South African-issued passports,” said a Tanzanian source.

The duo was escorted back to SA on 13 April, accompanied by a delegation from the Department of Justice and police officials.

Bester had escaped from the Mangaung Correctional Centre (MCC) in Bloemfontein in May 2022 after it was initially believed he had committed suicide by setting himself alight in his cell.

Magudumana and Ntshani became friends after the latter, founder of the Dr Pashy Foundation, hosted a Power Women dinner at the Houghton Hotel. The event was aimed at raising money for disadvantaged children’s education.
