Eastern Cape Health MEC Sindiswa Gomba intends appealing a High Court interdict against the department’s air ambulance service tender award, and the successful bidder will continue to provide the service until the appeal is lodged.
Daily Dispatch reports that Acting Judge Nceba Dukada granted the interdict pending a review of the tender process, saying NAC had demonstrated it had reasonable prospects of success in review proceedings.
Health spokesperson Sizwe Kupelo confirmed the department would appeal the interdict on implementing a service level agreement with the Leli Investments-Black Eagle Aviation Services joint venture.
