A global meeting of researchers says there is growing evidence that a bioactive, which is only contained in oats, may possess anti-oxidant properties, which help it to protect against both cancer and heart problems. Scientists at the [b]Annual Conference of the American Chemical Society[/b] said studies suggest that a bioactive compound called avenanthramide could stop fat forming in the arteries, causing heart attacks and strokes.
