Police in Mbombela have arrested three men for the murder of Mediclinic Nelspruit’s Dr Nicholas Procter (40) who had recently been nominated for the new SA Council of Anaesthesiologists, and whose body was found a week ago after he disappeared.
Mpumalanga provincial police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli said the doctor had been reported missing on 1 February.
His body was found in an apartment at Green Valley in Mbombela, reports IOL.
The three suspected killers were charged with murder and are scheduled to appear before the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court this week.
On its Facebook page, the Mediclinic Nelspruit paid tribute to the slain doctor, saying Procter was respected and loved by colleagues and staff.
“Dr Procter was recently nominated for the new SA Council of Anaesthesiologists and surely would have been elected, as he is well-known nationally for his dedication to anaesthetics. He leaves a legacy through his no-nonsense attitude and dedication to medicine.”
