Uganda provides 70,000 insecticide-treated mosquito nets to its soldiers

Uganda's Health Ministry has handed over 70,000 long-lasting, insecticide-treated mosquito nets to the national army, the Ugandan People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), to distribute throughout the east African state to combat malaria. Uganda Health Ministry permanent secretary Dr Diana Atwine said in a report on the Polity site, the UPDF would treat health promotion as one of their key focus areas.

The chief of medical services in the UPDF, major-general Ambrose Musinguzi, said the nets would be distributed in the medical camps during the Tarehe Sita week.
