A physician in Beverly Hills has been accused of sexually assaulting an unconscious woman in Los Angeles, and charged with eight felony counts including rape, sodomy and oral copulation of an unconscious or asleep person.
Babak Hajhosseini (42) was arrested on 26 November, with investigators from the LA Police Department saying he had posted high-paying job listings on recruiting websites to identify potential victims.
Medpage Today reports that he would invite potential victims to work overtime at his home before pressuring them to drink alcohol.
In at least one instance, he convinced a woman to drink alcohol. When she fell unconscious, he allegedly sexually assaulted her and recorded the incident, the police said.
At his arraignment on 27 December, Hajhosseini pleaded not guilty to all charges.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 13 February, and he is currently out on $2m bail. If convicted, he could face a maximum sentence of 34 years in prison.
