A woman was due to appear in court this week after posing as a doctor and attempting to solicit a bribe from a patient at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital at the weekend.
She allegedly demanded R700 – to assist a patient – from someone escorting the person, reports News24.
“The person became suspicious when the bogus doctor, wearing green scrubs with the name Dr Zulu imprinted on the uniform, advised her to meet at the pedestrian gate where the payment was to be made,” said Health Department spokesperson Motalatale Modiba.
The escort notified security staff who nabbed the imposter at the gate.
She was unable to provide security personnel with her registration and persal number, and was subsequently arrested.
A case was opened at Diepkloof police and she was due to appear in court this week.
