Indian encephalitis deaths

Almost 570 people in [b]India[/b] have died after contracting encephalitis, commonly known as ‘brain fever’. Outbreaks of [b]Acute Encephalitis Syndrome[/b] and [b]Japanese Encephalitis[/b] are common every year in India, especially during the monsoon season, and claim hundreds of lives. But this year, major outbreaks – usually most prevalent in the northern states of [b]Uttar Pradesh[/b] and [b]Bihar[/b] – have spread to regions such as [b]West Bengal[/b] and [b]Assam[/b] further east and north – killing 568 people.
