Third-line SA antiretroviral guidelines

Third-line antiretroviral treatment (ART) is used when a patient has experienced virological failure on drugs from the NRTI, NNRTI and PI classes, and has documented PI resistance.

South African Guidelines for Third Line Treatment in Adults and Paeds are available on the Health Department and SA HIV Clinicians Society website.

These include: the third line ART application form, algorithms, paediatric dosing chart, and the communication from SA Health Products Regulatory Agency (SAHPRA) regarding pregnancy and dolutegravir.
