The [b]South African National Aids Council[/b] has dismissed comments by international activist Bob Geldof after he blasted the country’s ‘disgraceful’ level of donations to the [b]Global Fund to Fight Aids[/b].
Fareed Abdullah, Sanac CEO, said: ‘He (Geldof) doesn’t seem to have any recent information on SA. Quite frankly, his comments were embarrassing when one of the biggest pieces of news from the conference was SA’s big treatment plan, which was held out as an example to the rest of Africa and the world.’
